A big part of CSL's work is a connection to resources for local families, and we're sharing this information in the hopes that it will be helpful for many families.

Strong social services were critical across our nation to help families weather 2020. Here are some of the things we did together last year.

It is with mixed emotion I am reaching out today to let you know that our colleague, Amber Bauer, CSL’s Vice President of Housing Services, is taking on a new and exciting role with the Greater Kansas City Coalition to End Homelessness (GKCCEH).

We must provide basic needs, like food, medicine, shelter, and other essentials. We are also focused on how we make tomorrow brighter by providing access to jobs or training programs.

This summer more than ever, we need to help keep kids and families strong and move towards recovery. To that end, we will continue drive-thru feeding programs at all 10 CSL feeding sites until significant restrictions are lifted.

Your support and collaboration has provided the fuel to make program expansion happen.

The addition of a loan product to support improved housing situations provides a supply of assistance that can be replenished as borrowers make their payments.

For far too long, in our collective anti-poverty work, we have ignored the power of building wealth and assets for poverty families to have economic mobility. It is time that this work around wealth- and asset-building become the norm, and not the exception.

The expansion is a direct result of CSL’s outstanding work in administering other HUD program dollars that has led to positive outcomes in our community.

Whether it’s a stranger passing through, or our next door neighbor, thank you for making sure that CSL is continuing its 103 years of work – being here when people need us.

Introducing a public benefit project between CSL, Fort Osage School District, and Mid-Continent Public Library.

Hard work will get people ahead, but the road to economic opportunities is supported when families have goals, and the opportunity to develop assets along the way.

CSL is doubling down on workforce development by expending more resources to connect our neighbors to better career opportunities.

The CSL of the future must be adaptable to different environments, and must always be looking for innovative ways to connect with families.

CSL is grateful that Stone Church has placed its trust in us to steward this community asset for the next generation.

After we were awarded the opportunity to expand our work, we became aware of 10 Veterans at risk of losing their housing in the Kansas City area. The timing was perfect for us to intercede and bring these Veterans under our new contract.
