TAX CREDITS

Community Services League has Missouri Food Pantry Tax Credits and Neighborhood Assistance Program Tax Credits available for donors who make gifts to CSL. Both fund much needed services at the agency and both are 50% credits.

See details below on taxpayer eligibility and qualifying gifts.

Missouri Food Pantry Tax Credits (MO-FPT)

Missouri Food Pantry Tax Credits are available each year for qualifying gifts that support CSL’s food pantry services.

Eligible donors may receive a 50% Missouri state tax credit for qualifying donations of cash or food supplies. These credits may be applied over up to three years of Missouri tax liability.

Any eligible Missouri taxpayer — including an individual, corporation, or trust — may receive a credit of up to $2,500 per taxpayer, per year.

For example, a donor who makes a qualifying $5,000 gift may be eligible to receive $2,500 in Missouri Food Pantry Tax Credits.

How it works

Each January, we send Missouri Food Pantry Tax Credit forms to eligible donors with their qualifying gift history from the previous year.

Donors simply provide the form to their tax preparer when filing their Missouri taxes.

Missouri Neighborhood Assistance Program Tax Credits (NAP)

Community Services League has been awarded $249,978 in Missouri Neighborhood Assistance Program tax credits for the 2026 tax year.

These credits support CSL’s Workforce Development Program, helping neighbors gain the skills, training, and support needed to move toward stable employment and long-term self-sufficiency.

Eligible donors may receive a 50% Missouri state tax credit for qualifying gifts. These credits may be applied over up to five years of Missouri tax liability.

Unlike Missouri Food Pantry Tax Credits, there is no per-taxpayer credit limit for NAP credits. However, donors must have eligible business-related Missouri tax liability to use them.

How it works

After a gift is made, CSL will provide the required Missouri NAP application form and help complete the submission process.

To redeem NAP credits, donors must provide documentation of their gift, such as a cancelled check and bank statement or a credit card billing statement showing the gift to CSL.

The application must be signed and notarized by the donor. CSL then submits the completed paperwork to the State of Missouri.

Once approved, the State issues the tax credit certificate to CSL for distribution to the donor.
