Double Your Impact.

Throughout May, CSL is raising funds to provide paid summer construction internships for local high school students working on CSL’s next Affordable Home builds in Independence.

Theses students are gaining real-world skills, earning income and helping create safe, affordable homes for local families.

When school ends, the opportunity should not.

During the school year, students have spent part of each day on an actual construction site, working alongside CSL’s contractor and community partners.

The Building Futures Campaign helps extend that opportunity through the summer by funding paid internships, allowing students to continue learning, earning, and building

Meet Damian

Damian spent the summer of 2025 working alongside CSL's general contractor, Dan Speigel of Exceptional Spaces. Damian was learning the trade the best way possible: by doing the work.

"I didn't really know what to expect at first," Damian said. "But once I got out here and started working, I realized this is something I'm good at—and something I actually enjoy doing."

Today, Damian is back on CSL’s job site, helping build our next phase of affordable homes. With your support, more students can follow Damian's path and more local families can find a place to call home.
